Liam – Youth Services Trainee
What is your name?
Liam
How old are you?
18
What do you do?
I help out with Council run youth initiatives, like GRIND and YAG stuff, as well as The Big Gig and anything else going on with the youth in Darwin!!!
What type of shoes are you wearing?
I pretty much only wear Dunlop volleys, not for any fashion oriented reasons, but because they are CHEAP!
What’s the best thing that’s ever happened to you?
One day, after climbing Mount Everest, curing cancer and beating Chuck Norris in a fight, I finally created a breakfast cereal that doesn’t go all soggy and yuk when you leave it in milk. Then I woke up… But in real life, I once saw the Descendents (80s punk rock band – one of my favourite bands), and they were AMAZING.
If you were a superhero what would your name be?
I think I’d probably be a double agent actually, pretending to be a villain so I can infiltrate and sabotage evil schemes. My villain name would be Optimus Grime.
“I’m a genie. What do you wish for?”
Too much responsibility! The world’s too complicated to mess around with, things will go wrong! I don’t want any wishes. Well okay, If I have to, I’ll wish for an endless supply of awesome musical equipment! That would be awesome!
What movie has the stupidest title ever?
I once found a Russian movie called Operation N.O.A.H., which I promptly bought and gave to my friend Noah. Not only was a ridiculous name, but the movie was pretty bad too.
What’s you pet peeve?
Friends. It’s a bad show; I don’t care what you say.
What’s your favourite thing about GRIND and YAG?
I get involved with creative projects! Organising the Big Gig with YAG is always awesome fun, I love music, and I love organising and helping out at events! Plus the youth teams I work with are awesome!

Darwin City Council Youth Projects invites young people aged between 12 and 20 years to apply to be
part of Council's Youth Advisory Group (YAG). YAG meets monthly to discuss and inform Counci on issues affecting young people, as well as organising and hosting projects.
