Emily – Youth Services Trainee
Emily Nancarrow
How old are you?
22, nearly 23 (woe is me – youth, slowly slipping away!)
What do you do?
I work in youth services and help to connect youth with their community, give them a voice and show Darwin how awesome its young people are! I also help run initiatives and events like Grind and YAG.
What type of shoes are you wearing?
None at the moment actually… I’m a big fan of bare feet. But if I were waring shoes, they’d definitely be my groove boots!
What’s the best thing that’s ever happened to you?
Laughter… honestly, I do not believe that anything beats it… (eating ice cream does come pretty close though.)
If you were a vegetable, what would you be?
An eggplant.
If you were a superhero what would your name be?
Emdogg
“I’m a genie. What do you wish for?”
I would wish there to be enough for everyone, forever.
What movie has the stupidest title ever?
Pineapple Express, it’s got the stupidest storyline ever too. I do remember is quite vividly though so it obviously had an impact on my life…
What’s your favourite thing about GRIND and YAG?
Young people doing positive and inspiring things in their community. Also, being creative and interacting and meeting a wide range of interesting peeps.

Darwin City Council Youth Projects invites young people aged between 12 and 20 years to apply to be
part of Council's Youth Advisory Group (YAG). YAG meets monthly to discuss and inform Counci on issues affecting young people, as well as organising and hosting projects.
