At the heart of the City of Darwin’s 2013 National Youth Week celebration is the Youth Hub – a program of arts, cultural and recreational activities for young people by young people. It showcases the talents and interests of young people in Darwin and aims to provide significant opportunities for young people to develop and present their ideas through a variety of activities and forums.
The Youth Hub will see the Darwin Entertainment Centre transformed into a colourful, vibrant and engaging hive of activity for the period 10 – 13 April 2013. The foyer, gallery, outdoor stage and studio will be a buzz with activities including dance classes, burlesque performances, a fashion parade, one on one theatre performances, chill out areas and a diverse range of music to suit all tastes.
As part of the program we are excited to include a variety of work by young artists and other artists creating work for young people. These projects could be:
• Music performances
• Visual arts workshops
• Movement classes
• Exhibition of existing work
• Pop up performances
