1. Please introduce yourself

My name is Scott Kent most people know me as Wolverine/Wolfman or Wolf. I’m a musician not just a hip hop artist, I sing and play guitar too, I’ve toured the country and have released in total; 10 albums
2. If you were an animal, what would you be and why?

A WOLF hands down, I’ve been fascinated with wolves all my life, from the nursery rhymes like 3 little pigs, to werewolves and horror movies and also what I’ve read and learnt about them from native American beliefs & mythologies

3. Tell us about where you got the name ‘Wolverine’ from and why you used it.
Well I was a fan of comics when I was in high school and X Men and Wolverine were my favorite. At the time wu tang
where really big and they were using comic book alias’s so I just thought what about Wolverine and its stuck ever since.
4. When did you first become interested in writing raps/ rapping, and what has the journey been like?

First time was in year 7 or 8. I used to write poems and I started listening to Public Enemy & Run Dmc and I started to try to write rhymes. The journey as far as the music goes as been amazing! I’m up to my 6th album and 10th overall if you include mixtapes. I just love music and words. As far as the industry goes, Its been hell. I’ve now come to terms with the face that I have to control my career because I’ve been let astray and let down by labels, mates, artists ect ect… But a positive is that its made me more aware and focused on what I have to do. It’s also made my hunger to succeed and keep going that much more greater.
5. What do you like to rap about?

Everything, no subject is left unturned. Thats what I love about it. You can be funny, you can be topical, you can be agressive you can be loving, you can play with your words even if they dont make sense, to mean something like acrabatics with words.
Wolverine - spittin' rhymes 6. What has been your favourite performance?

Favorite performs i’ve seen hands down was Ice Cube in Sydney. He is one of my all time favs and he was incredible not just doing tracks from his solo career but also NWA and Westside Connection too. My fave performance of myself would be when I performed with Brad Strut. He and Trem are two of my fave Oz M.C’s and to hang out with him, do a great performance, watch him on stage then have him complement my performance – well its was amazing and i’ll never forget it.
7. Who inspires you?

In hip hop its Public Enemy, Ice Cube, Wu Tang and the list goes on. In music in general John Lennon, Jim Morrison,K urt Cobain and the list goes on haha. In sport; Michael Jordan, Mike Tyson, Muhummad Ali. Life inspires me, people inspire me and my family inspires me
8. Who are you when you’re not ‘Wolverine’?

I’m just a normal guy. I love my family, I love my sports (especially footy & basketball). I like movies, Xbox/ps3 games, having bbqs, going to gigs, and hanging out with my mates
9.  Any advise for young upcoming performers/ rappers/ hip hop artists?

Firstly believe in yourself. The music industry can be a daunting place and it isnt all bout hanging with ya mates and having a good time.  Don’t give up, fight for what you believe in and practise, practise, practise!
10. What would you tell your 17 year old self?

DO IT NOW!!! I feel I wasted so much time and put my faith into to many people. I should of just done it myself and not
wasted my time partying so much… I’d also say never give in and look after those close to you, coz its no fun on your own.
