Be There! Audition Notice and Film Crew Call: Corrugated Iron’s At ur Fingertips* (Working Title)

 A group of young filmmakers at Corrugated Iron have developed a script for a short film At Our Fingertips* exploring the impact of cyberbullying on young people in the NT. The script was co-developed with writer Mary Anne Butler, and is about a teenage boy who, after breaking up with his girlfriend at school, starts receiving taunting texts and online pranks. What starts as a joke escalates to a situation no one could have imagined. The film will be directed by Gail Evans.
 
Corrugated Iron is now looking to cast for the film, which will be shot over the weekend of 17th – 18 th March and two afternoon/evening sessions the following week. We are also looking for a technical crew made of up of young filmmakers to assist the production crew in a number of areas.
 
It is an unpaid gig, but is a great opportunity for young performers and filmmakers to get greater experience and exposure to industry based film production.
 
At the auditions this Sunday 4th March at Corrugated Iron (1-3pm), we are looking to cast:
 
>2 males, 15-18 yrs old:
·       one to play a sort of quiet but popular teenage boy, a keen musician,
·      One to play a teenage boy, nearly 18, into partying, drinking, a bit cool
 
>2 females, 15 to 18 yrs old:
·      one to play a popular, confident school girl, wants to study law after school
·      one to play a more awkward, kind of shy schoolgirl, best friends with other female role
 
>8-10 males and females, 15 to 18 years old, extras as school students
 
We will also be recruiting the technical crew for filming this Sunday, so please come along if you are interested in this aspect so we can discuss preferred roles. The crew will be working alongside industry professionals, assisting and for smaller scenes taking on key technical roles. Technical crew we need are:
 Light, Cameram Action!!
>Camera Assistant x 2
 
>Sound Assistant x 1
 
>Lighting Assistant x 1
 
>Runner x 1
 
>Wardrobe and Make up Assistant x 1
 
>Production Assistant x 1
 
>Post Production Assistant x 1
 
Cast and crew will need to be available on the weekend of 10th and 11th March for rehearsals and the weekend of 17th to 18th March for filming.
