Pilgrimage: Jess Ribeiro & The Bone Collectors

By Tony | Thursday, 8 October | 6 Comments

PilgrimageHey GRINDers, here’s another awesome album from a great Darwin band Jess Ribeiro & the Bone Collectors. This CD is a great tribute to the blues of old. Some of the songs sound a bit country but they are amazingly written, with extremely intricate lyrics, this band brings out the best of Darwin’s nigh unheard of blues. Jess’ raspy, bluesy vocals go great with the guitar and extraordinary use of harmonics and the beaut melody lines – this trio knows how to play guitar extremely well. Drummer Damian Meoli knows that simplistic drum beats work well with the style of music and uses them to great affect. The recording is very good, maybe too good? There is the chance that they forked out a fairly large some of money to get such a good quality of recording as the mixing and Mastering is very well done.

Good work Bone Collectors: 4.75/5

also. i agree the album is really well mixed and mastered but i’m of the opinion that as long as it’s beneficial to the feeling of the album, it’s money well spent.
